There are many approaches to learning about the laws and legal requirements in your state, and there are many tools that may be used. You may visit your local law library, court self help center or book store to find law books that answer most of your questions. You may also conduct research online using any of the legal dictionaries and encyclopedias listed herein below.
LEGAL DICTIONARIES
Law.com Dictionary provides elaborate definitions of legal terms and is very easy to use.
The Free Dictionary by Farlex defines about 3,000 legal terms online to help you understand divorce and related legal topics.
LEGAL ENCYCLOPEDIAS
Georgetown Law Library provides guides that show you how to do legal research.
Wikipedia is a free online encyclopedia with information about millions of things, including divorce and related legal topics.
STATE LAWS
Law Library of Congress’s Guide to Law Online provides links to state courts, state laws, and other helpful state-specific information.
