You are contemplating or in the process of getting divorced and have countless “Why”, “How”, “Who”, “Where”, and “What” questions.
You are smart and resourceful. You may be working with a lawyer, mediator or team of experts, but admittedly, you feel perplexed, overwhelmed, victimized or simply annoyed because you have to answer so many questions in order to get legally divorced.
You have questions and you want answers.
Not any old answers. You want answers that will give you the courage to make divorce decisions with confidence and clarity.
That’s where I come in. I help you find answers and encourage you to make decisions that reflect who you are and what you value.
First, The Introduction.
My introductory conversation with you was more beneficial than the dealings I’ve had over the past 18 months with my attorneys.
~ Mandy, Atlanta, Georgia
In our meeting we will talk about you and your divorce.
We will examine your challenges – maybe one, two or all of them.
We direct our attention to your most pressing matter or burning question. What do you want? How can you get there?
We open your eyes to unseen or perhaps, ignored opportunities.
During our introductory conversation you begin seeing things more clearly. Answers or pathways to answers appear.
You come away with a deeper understanding of where you are and would like to go, with action steps in hand.
You experience my unique one-of-a-kind style and determine if it is a fit to help you to navigate the intricacies of your divorce and move through it with confidence and clarity.
Our Introductory Session takes place in my office at Soul Center Marin in Mill Valley, California or over the telephone or Skype.
Second, The Journey.
I can’t tell you enough how you made my life so much better with your wisdom and guidance. I could have had a very different life financially and emotionally had I not had your help. ~ Susan, San Franciso, California
Our one-on-one coaching journey begins with a conversation that examines your current reality and gives us a foundation upon which to work together.
I want to know who you are; what you value. I also want to know what’s going on in your divorce and life. What are your present circumstances and most pressing needs.
Are you receiving support; do you have a lawyer; are you on the fence; still living together; would you reconcile if your husband gave you the opportunity. Do you have any upcoming deadlines.
We explore your legal and logistical issues, like where you are living, whether you are working, if you would like to move, return to work. And of course, we begin to discern how you are most comfortable making decisions.
At the end of our foundation conversation, we mark any action steps you will take before our next regular coaching session.
The things I felt were insurmountable, feel very manageable with you by my side. I feel so much more empowered. It is an amazing feeling that I’ve never ever felt before! ~ Diana, Mill Valley, California
During our ongoing regularly scheduled coaching sessions we talk about recent events in your life and case, discoveries, and pressing questions.
We set the agenda for our coaching sessions by discussing what is most important to you and what you want to come away with.
Our attention is then focused on that topic and any related topics. For example, if your husband is not paying support, your lawyer is not taking your calls, and getting a spousal support (alimony or maintenance) order is very important to you, we will discuss your options for determining whether you may receive support and how you can go about securing it.
Or, if you are negotiating a divorce settlement directly with your husband and want to know whether or not you should suggest selling your house, we can discuss the pros and cons of doing so and explore other options that could be more desirable to you and/or your husband.
Or, if you are working with an attorney and need to decide whether or not to go to trial, we can discuss the time, energy, money, pros, and cons of doing so.
We will raise unanswered questions for further analysis, discuss where you might find more information, and examine how the options you are considering align with what is most important to you. We end our sessions by marking action steps that you will take before our next session.
Throughout our coaching journey I support you with nonjudgmental observation, insight, encouragement, compassion, and dedication. I apply a holistic approach and invite you to use law, logic, and intuition when making your divorce decisions.
Together we will move you through divorce and begin creating your new life that will be filled with joy, hope, and love.

Divorce coaching is different and distinct from divorce consulting. Divorce coaching does not establish an attorney-client relationship between you and I and I do not provide legal advice at any time during our coaching relationship. Divorce coaching also is not therapy or counseling and I am not a licensed psychologist, psychiatrist, or other licensed professional who provides therapeutic or counseling services.
I am an attorney licensed in California and Hawaii and as such, I do not provide legal advice or representation in states other than California and Hawaii. Thus, for residents of other states, my coaching services do not include legal advice nor is an attorney-client relationship established between you and I through our coaching relationship.
If you live in California or Hawaii and would like to engage my services, I recommend that we explore together, a divorce consulting relationship, which does establish and attorney-client relationship and enables me to provide to you, legal advice. If you are interested in learning more about divorce coaching, consulting, or any other legal services, please contact my assistant Monica at 415-322-9061 to learn more and schedule a conversation with me.
