Thursday Thirteen, First Edition

Here are thirteen things you may not know about me:

1. I am divorced.
2. I am 39 years old
3. I am the only person in my immediate family who is divorced – my sister is not yet married and my parents have been married for 46 years (I think +/-)
4. I have traveled to 14 countries and would love to travel to many more as soon as possible
5. I am a sucker for rescue animals and consequently, have 3 rescued border collies and 2 rescued kitties – one of whom has one eye and the other, no eyelids (yes, no eyelids – he looks permanently wide-eyed)
6. I am, at times, a voracious reader – I read 3 books in the last 2 weeks
7. I love watching the “Amazing Race” and often wonder how terrible my man and I might look on national television, running around the world with backpacks (He already admits he’d probably be carrying my pack most of the time)
8. Two of my best friends are men
9. I am the first born American in my family
10. I was raised in Hawaii and lived there for 28 years
11. I am my father’s daughter – with an analytical mind and entrepreneurial spirit
12. I adore and admire my mother immensely – she is a hard working, open-hearted, generous, loving woman
13. I am generally a very private person, but I have resolved to share more of my story and personal experiences with you
