A Cambodian couple has taken the figurative “50-50″ divorce split literally, and cut their house in half: one-half of the house goes to the wife and the other half, to the husband. And, to make the break even more mathematically titillating, the couple also has divided the underlying land into four sections, and assigned a quarter each to husband, wife, and their two children.
Apparently, after forty years of marriage the couple didn’t want to endure a lengthy and costly divorce, so they instead agreed to divide all of their assets and did so figuratively! WOW! I can’t say I blame them for taking such drastic matters if the ultimate outcome works for everyone. Who knows, this just may start a trend, especially in divorce cases where either spouse is a contractor, carpenter or real estate developer with access to land and heavy machinery…”Honey, get that chain saw started!”
