1. Make sure all school forms are filled out to accurately reflect your current custodial arrangement. Ask the school to send correspondence to both parents.
2. If your relationship with your ex-husband is not amicable, ask your children’s teachers to schedule separate Parent-Teacher Conferences.
3. Keep your ex-husband current on all school and extra-curricular activities. If there are changes to any particular schedule, make sure you inform your ex-husband so he may participate in your child’s life.
4. Be mindful, prompt and respectful of your child’s emotional needs during drop-offs and pick-ups. For example, do not discuss child support or any other adult topic when your child is present.
5. Above all, be polite to your ex-husband when you are both attending a school, extracurricular or sporting event for your child.
