Thanks for sharing your thoughts Marinka. While I agree that an abusive parent should not have custody, I don't know how taking his horrific acts more public can help the children. Yes, he caused their humiliation, but I think it can be made worse for the children.

Yes, most divorce cases are public unless the court agrees they should be private, but in this case like many celebrity divorces, I think the parents could have pushed hard for privacy.

No need to apologize for your opinion. Differences start dialogue!! And I'm glad you shared your thoughts.

Warm Regards,
Helene.

I just can't blame Christie for this. In NY, court proceedings are public and the courtrooms are closed only in extraordinary circumstances. The burden was on Peter Cook to show why it should be closed and he didn't make it.

The children's humiliation isn't Christie's doing. Sure, she's the woman scorned, but the dirty laundry airing isn't on her--it's on him. She wasn't the one who uploaded obscene photos of him on the internet--he was. Sorry, I can't fault a mother, or a father, for that matter, who does whatever is in her power to make sure that the abusive parent does not get custody.
