Thursday Thirteen, Ninth Edition
In anticipation of the Hallmark holiday that can be a little disheartening for single ladies, here are thirteen nurturing things you can do without a man, on Valentine’s Day.
- Play soothing music, light the candles and take a nice hot bubble bath
- Buy yourself some sexy albeit comfortable red lingerie
- Plan a dinner date at your favorite restaurant the day before or after Valentine’s Day and enjoy with a friend
- Pop a bottle of champagne and toast your successes and dreams
- Cuddle up in bed with a great, uplifting book
- Get cozy on your couch and watch a movie that makes you smile, perhaps Juno
- Visit your SPCA or local animal shelter and make it the best Valentine’s Day ever for a homeless kitten, cat, puppy or dog by adopting or fostering a furry friend
- Buy and eat some of the delectable and beautifully wrapped Valentine’s chocolates available at gourmet shops
- Write yourself a Valentine’s Day card and mail it to yourself so it arrives on February 14th
- Make Valentine’s cookies and cards with your children
- Call your single friends and invite them spend Valentine’s with you and your family
- Call your parents and tell them you love them
- Ignore the entire cupid crazed holiday and treat it like any other Thursday…and don’t forget happy hour at the single’s bars!!

Number 7……….I’m all for that. We have TWO adoptees in our home.
As for the red ‘nightie’……….umm, after 40 years of marriage, well let’s just say I’m not single any more. LOLOLOLOL
I have the Thursday 13 of the Chinese New Year this week. Hope to see you there for a visit.
