Thursday Thirteen, Fifth Edition
Here are thirteen reasons we are lucky to be American women in the United States:
- We have the right to vote
- We have the right to work
- We do not need to marry
- We can own our own homes
- We can walk, drive, ride or fly almost anywhere in the world alone
- We can have children without a partner, if we choose
- We can become President of the United States
- We do not need to cover our bodies from head to toe when we leave our houses
- We can own and/or operate multi-million dollar businesses
- We cannot be legally sold to the highest bidder
- We are guaranteed freedom of speech
- We will not be incarcerated for being raped
- We can band together to help end the injustices that millions of women around the world suffer daily.

What a fabulous reminder of all we have to be grateful for. I know I ‘can’ do #9, I just wish I did already.

Very true. Though with the exception of #7 the same is true of women in dozens of other countries too.
Re #7, it is way past time when the idea of a woman head of government should no longer be a novelty. It’s time to catch up with the rest of the free world there and not marginalize 50% of the population.

Very good reasons! Over here in The Netherlands I can do those too (excwell, no president of the US), I’m glad to say! Although I don’t fit your targetgroup (happily married): you have a very professional website!
Thanks for visiting my expensive cities TT.
