Weekly Divorce Tip #30
If you think your husband may be hiding assets, subpoena any bank or mortgage loan applications and net worth statements that your husband completed in order to obtain any personal or business loans (i.e. mortgage). Once the bank or mortgage companies produce the documents, review the list of income and assets on the applications and net worth statements to determine if there are any assets and/or income that your husband did not disclose during marriage or divorce. You may be pleasantly surprised by what you find. If you find this information AFTER the divorce is final, talk to a lawyer about any actions you may have against your husband for fraud, which can be quite harsh.
This is not legal advice. You should consult an attorney if you have legal questions that relate to your specific divorce. Technorati Tags: divorce discovery subpoena records bank records evidence court trial hearing email voicemail messages getting divorced legal women woman law
