Weekly Divorce Tip #28
Whether you are thinking about moving across the country or to another country, if you have children, speak with a child custody attorney before packing your bags. Ask the attorney if you can legally move your child without your husband’s consent or whether you must get the court’s permission before doing so. If you move away with the children in violation of a court order, you may end up facing kidnapping charges and lose custody of your children. Don’t take any chances.
This is not legal advice. You should consult an attorney if you have legal questions that relate to your specific divorce. Technorati Tags: child custody move away divorce court order kidnapping getting divorced legal women woman law
