Weekly Divorce Tip #18

If your husband is enlisted and overseas or deployed at a time of war, you may ask officials at the “duty post” to serve your divorce petition. The active duty member, however, has the right to refuse service. Thus, be aware that you may face delays early in your case and you should prepare for this accordingly.

This is not legal advice. You should consult an attorney if you have legal questions that relate to your specific divorce.
