Weekly Divorce Tip #14

During the course of your divorce you will probably have several opportunities to negotiate a divorce settlement. Your husband may approach you informally, the court may order a pre-trial settlement conference or your lawyer may schedule a private mediation. Irrespective of how the negotiations arise, take advantage of the situation. Always listen to your husband’s offers so you can get a sense of his position, carefully weigh your options then, determine how to proceed. Be prepared with a general strategy but never play games, which could cost you later in the divorce.
