In Memoriam Monday

Memorial Day commemorates all of the U.S. men and women who have died in military service to their country. These soldiers fought to defend and protect our freedom. Today, honor them by embracing what they’ve given you and doing whatever it takes to be happy and free.

If you feel trapped in an unhappy, unhealthy or abusive relationship, commit to taking steps necessary to improve or end your relationship. Make an agreement with yourself that you will: begin counseling with your husband, go back to school if you lack earning power, write your resume and send it to potential employers, call the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 800–799–SAFE (7233) if you’re being abused or do anything else that will give you the power to change your life. Like all of those soldiers who sacrificed their lives, you too must be strong to be free.

Our hearts and thoughts are with those who have lost a father, husband, brother, son, mother, daughter, sister, wife or friend in service.
