Over the last 18 years as an attorney and mediator, Helene has worked with hundreds of divorcing people, spending thousands of hours negotiating, strategizing, mediating, litigating, and settling divorce cases.
In the course of her work as a divorce attorney and mediator, Helene watched so many women struggle with their decisions. “What should I do?” “How do I decide?” These women and their anguished questions inspired Helene to explore and develop the soul-centered divorce process.
Her personal experience of divorce in the early 1990s also served as a foundation for this work. Although she was young, naïve law student at the time, she found her path and her peace of mind by applying the soul centered divorce principles. Along the way, she also studied and incorporated the principles of meditation, relational energetics, and several branches of spirituality, all of which proved to be exceptionally valuable in the process of divorce.
Today, as a coach who has done – and continues to do – the deep work of aligning her decisions and actions with her core values, Helene uses her personal and professional knowledge to empower clients to stay fully engaged and authentic throughout the divorce process. Her purpose is to help women understand that, even in the midst of the most difficult divorces, they can take meaningful and deliberate action. She also provides simple, powerful tools to help women move forward in the most soul-centered and productive way.

Helene is a member of the State Bar of California and the Hawaii State Bar Association. She also is a mediator for the Sonoma Superior Court No-Fee Mediation panel, an instructor for the San Francisco Community Boards mediators, and a former California Bar Exam grader.
During her years as a family-law trial attorney, Helene served as an associate at the San Francisco law firms of Bley and Bley, and Morgan, Lewis & Bockius, where she litigated issues of child custody, child support, spousal support, prenuptial agreements, property division, and paternity. She successfully settled both multi-million-dollar cases as well as simple cases, and she appeared before public and private judges in California and Hawaii.
Helene completed her negotiation training under Roger Fisher, the director of The Harvard Negotiation Project and co-author of the books Getting to Yes: Negotiating Agreement Without Giving In, Getting Ready to Negotiate and Beyond Reason: Using Emotions as You Negotiate. Helene’s mediation training was done with Gary Friedman, author of Challenging Conflict: Mediation Through Understanding and A Guide to Divorce Mediation: How to Reach a Fair, Legal Settlement at a Fraction of the Cost.
